About Sandy

Northern Virginia’s leading physical therapist for prenatal and postpartum women

Sandy is a mobile physical therapist who treats her clients in the comfort of their own home

Sandy Michell is Northern Virginia’s leading physical therapist who helps women have amazing birth experiences and recover from them quickly. She provides exceptional personalized service in your own home. She founded Resilience Restored Physical Therapy because she saw so many women suffer needlessly and in silence. She knows firsthand how isolating it can be to have issues with incontinence and pelvic pain, both before or after having a baby, and how hard it can be to get yourself to a clinic to get your issues addressed, especially if you are a new mother or if you have other children to attend to at home. That is why she brings expert care to your door. Helping you have an amazing birth is one of her special joys and she has helped many women just like you overcome issues and have a great birthing day. Helping women recover from birth is a gift to their entire family and motivates Sandy to constantly grow as a professional and tailor solutions to each individual patient.

Sandy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 1989. She is certified as a licensed Physical Therapist in both Virginia and Maryland and as a Certified Functional Manual Therapist through the Institute of Physical Art.
